Role Overview

As Treasury Analyst II, you will support the overall Treasury and Cash Management of the Cortland enterpriseInvestors, colleagues, and partners alike have absolute confidence in treasury and cash management because of your leadership, adherence to treasury department rules and company policy, and precise attention to detail. 

 

  • Initiate or release wires, ACH transactions, account transfers, book transfers and intercompany transfers including capital market transactions 
  • Analyze fees, earnings credit, interest, and interest withholding to ensure Cortland is charged a reasonable market rate and is consistent with targets. 
  • Verify and authorize payments through established call back procedures and account validation tools to maintain control and prevent fraud.  
  • Prepare and maintain accurate bank documentation, including accounting forms, wire templates, and ACH instruction files.  
  • Monitor debt service payments to ensure payments are issued and bank accounts have adequate liquidity through community forecasts. 
  • Monitor and manage surplus cash. 
  • Monitor closed bank accounts, contacting banking partners to ensure timely completions of requests.  
  • Supporting the roles and responsibilities of the Treasury Analyst I as needed.

 

Additionally, you will support the Treasurer in: 

  • Provide daily corporate cash position, moving cash as required 
  • Provide daily corporate cash forecast 
  • Solvliquidity requests and other urgent requests from our banking partners within the required timeframe provided 
  • Manage requests from accounting, capital markets, and Cortland’s external counsel for urgent action items 
  • Provide month end rebate accrual for virtual and plastic credit cards 
  • Provide weekly review of cash deposits 
  • Manage all Department tasks to ensure timely execution and completion 
  • Ensure fraud mitigation procedures are followed 
  • Action all items that require immediate attention from internal Cortland departments and external partners.  

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required. 
  • 2+ years in accounting or finance. 
  • Great time management and ability to meet deadlines 
  • Ability to quickly respond to urgent requests 
  • Very good communication and interpersonal skills 
  • Well-organized and ability to prioritize 
  • Highly analytical with strong attention to detail 
  • Team player, able to change schedule to accommodate the goals of the team and the company. 
  • Able to handle pressure and projects with little or no advance warning.
