Role Overview

The Buyer is responsible for managing the end-to-end procurement process in Coupa, including reviewing requisitions, processing purchase orders, and resolving ordering and invoicing issues. This role collaborates with internal stakeholders and suppliers to ensure compliance with procurement policies, drive cost savings, and support continuous improvement in purchasing operations.

  • Review and process purchase requisitions and purchase orders in Coupa for both CSC and property-level needs
  • Troubleshoot issues during the ordering process (e.g., supplement details on requisitions, provide support on item and/or supplier identification process)
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements, source suppliers (where applicable), and ensure compliance with company procurement policies
  • Monitor supplier performance and manage issues related to delivery, pricing, and quality
  • Help resolve invoice discrepancies by working with accounts payable, suppliers, and internal teams to facilitate on-time payment (e.g., invoice exceptions related to catalog pricing, item descriptions)
  • Partner with the Procurement team to drive standardization of purchasing and reduction of suppliers
  • Ensure adherence to approved vendor lists, negotiated contracts, and spend guidelines
  • Identify and highlight opportunities for cost savings, process improvements, and risk mitigation
  • Assist with guiding end users for using the Coupa tool for purchasing
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives for procurement operations
  • Assist with tactical sourcing events or quick sourcing exercises
  • Track and report tactical sourcing savings and supplier performance metrics

Qualifications

  • B.S.  / B.A. degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Finance or other related degree programs, or equivelant experience
  • 2 years of experience in procurement, tactical sourcing, or purchasing operations or similar sourcing or procurement role
  • Experience using procurement systems; Coupa experience highly preferred
  • Familiarity with sourcing and procurement practices in a center-led or shared services environment
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to provide recommendations based on analysis
  • Willingness to learn and seek out feedback/assistance
  • Strong negotiation, organizational, and stakeholder management skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage competing priorities
  • Experience in real estate, property management, or facilities management industries is a plus
  • Excellent presentation, written, and verbal communication skills.
