Role Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Program Manager to lead and oversee technology installation projects for multifamily properties. In addition to managing the end-to-end deployment of building technology solutions, including Managed Wi-Fi, access control, camera systems, and EV charging stations, the Program Manager will also be responsible for managing and mentoring a team of Project Managers. This role requires strong leadership capabilities, project management expertise, and excellent communication skills to ensure seamless collaboration across teams, vendors, and property stakeholders, driving the successful delivery of innovative building technology solutions.

 

  • Lead a team of 3 Project Managers, fostering team growth through mentorship and guidance of project team members, while promoting a collaborative and high-performance team environment.
  • Leverage strong program management expertise to plan, coordinate and manage multiple technology installation projects from inception to completion, ensuring on time, on budget delivery within Cortland and Industry standards of quality.
  • Effectively work with key internal and external stakeholders, including within IT, Leadership, Operations and residents to identify technology needs, while ensuring clear, accurate and timely reporting on project timelines and deliverables.
  • Coordinate with third-party vendors, contractors and service providers to schedule installations, resolve issues and ensure compliance with project specifications.
  • Plan and oversee the deployment and configuration of Technology Implementations, including Managed Wi-Fi networks, access control platforms, surveillance cameras, and EV charging stations.
  • Develop and manage project budgets, track expenses and provide regular financial reports to stakeholders.
  • Ensure all installations meet regulatory requirements, safety standards, and company quality guidelines.
  • Provide technical guidance and support during the implementation phase, resolving any issues that arise to minimize disruption.
  • Maintain detailed project documentation, including timelines, progress reports, and technical manuals for handoff to operational teams.
  • Facilitate training sessions for property management staff to ensure they can effectively use and maintain the installed systems.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Project Management, Engineering, or a related field, preferred (or equivalent experience).
  • 5-8 years of experience managing technology projects, including 3+ years in a program management capacity. Technology Program Management experience in the multifamily property management or real estate industry is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of building technology systems, including Wi-Fi networks, access control systems, surveillance cameras, and EV charging infrastructure.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated expertise in industry standards, compliance requirements, and best practices for building technology installations.
  • Ability to analyze technical issues and implement effective solutions.
  • Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Asana, Trello) and reporting platforms.
  • Technical expertise in networking, electrical systems, or other relevant areas.
  • Experience working with vendors and contractors in the real estate or construction industry.
  • Familiarity with multifamily property operations and resident needs preferred.
  • Project Management Certifications, such as a PMP, CAPM, or similar project management credentials are a plus.
  • This role requires on-site visits to various Cortland properties during installation phases.
  • Occasional travel to regional properties may be required.
  • Flexible working hours, including evenings and weekends may be required to meet project deadlines.
