Job Overview

As the Contract Administration Manager, you will oversee the contract management and administration function at Cortland, maximizing financial and operational performance while minimizing risk. You will lead a team of Contract Administrators and drive the contract creation, execution, and analysis processes to support Cortland’s strategic objectives.

Roles You Will Play

  • Manage and support Contract Administrators responsible for Cortland’s contract administration function.
  • Serve as the contract administration expert during Cortland’s Coupa implementation, ensuring best practices.
  • Develop and route vendor master contracts for vendor onboarding and create vendor service contracts and change orders using Cortland’s contract templates.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact between the legal department, business team, and vendors during contract negotiations.
  • Work with suppliers, Cortland employees, AP, IT, Risk Management, and Legal teams on contract-related requests, ensuring compliance with company policy.
  • Extract, analyze, and present contract-related reports from various platforms as needed to support data-driven decision-making.
  • Maintain accurate contract files and a tracking log for all executed vendor agreements.
  • Collaborate with Risk Management and vendor credentialing teams to streamline and enhance the vendor onboarding process.
  • Identify and implement improvements within the contract administration function to boost operational efficiency.
  • Contribute to special projects and other duties as assigned, maintaining flexibility and attention to detail.
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with colleagues across Cortland to support contract management and operational goals.

Building Blocks of Success

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of contract administration experience with management experience preferred; multifamily industry experience is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of legal terms related to service contracts, attention to detail, organization, analytical and customer service skills.
  • Self-motivated, team-oriented, with excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to prioritize and manage a dynamic workload.
  • This position includes supervisory responsibilities, guiding the Contract Administration team to meet Cortland’s standards of contract management excellence.
