Job Overview

As a Senior Construction Accountant, you are responsible for managing the day-to-day accounting functions for our Cortland Build department. Here are the roles you’ll play:

Roles You Will Play

The Right Hand

 

  • Daily cash flow management
  • Prepare financial statements and supporting schedules according to monthly close schedule
  • Facilitate and complete monthly close procedures
  • Prepare monthly account reconciliations
  • Assist with preparing financial statements monthly and report on variances, financial and tax audits, and corporate reporting requirements
  • Support with documentation and monitoring of internal controls

Building Blocks of Success

  • Stellar 3+ years of experience in accounting; CPA a plus, experience in corporate accounting preferred
  • Bachelor’s or higher degree in accounting or finance
  • Strong understanding of GAAP accounting
  • Highly detail oriented and organized in work
  • Ability to meet assigned deadlines
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a customer service focus
  • Ability to act and operate independently with minimal daily direction from manager to accomplish objectives
  • Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with all levels of employees, management, and external agencies to maximize performance, creativity, problem solving, and results
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (Vlookups and PivotTables)
